During this yearlong appointment, you will work on the building of instrumentation to measure/characterize individual cells, nanoparticles, and other materials. Quantum Physicist (Full Time) Adámas Nanotechnologies is seeking a quantum optics experimentalist with a background in atomic, molecular, and optical physics to join our team. The primary role will be to advance and maintain our materials characterization infrastructure for diamond production, in addition to contributing to ongoing and future projects on commercialization of quantum sensors based on color centers in diamond. Responsibilities in this hands-on role include implementation of the following characterization techniques to assess the quality of nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in diamond: optically detected magnetic resonance, T1 relaxometry, quantum coherence (T2) measurements. Along with implementation of the quantum characterization infrastructure, the candidate will participate in the optimization of the sensing properties of quantum diamond material. Eventually, it is expected that the candidate will lead development and engineering of novel quantum devices based on color centers in diamond in collaboration with our partners from industry and academia. Well-fitting candidates will have a strong drive towards both fundamental scientific research in addition to interest in entrepreneurial activities. Successful characteristics desired include being solution-oriented, organized, self-motivated, detailed, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
